It appears that mankind today will forgive you of almost anything except claiming that homosexuality is a sin, and that those who claim to be part of the “LGBTQ (whatever new acronyms they have added, insert here) community” can actually change and were not born that way. THAT is the big no-no today, the untouchable accusation against the government funded and supported lifestyle. Let us be clear on all this that the “enemy” in this discussion is not anybody that is gay, or lesbian, or bisexual, or trans, or queer. The enemy is the devil, Satan, that has purposely blinded the eyes of people that they are not able to see, and has marred this debates vocabulary so horrifically, that little discussion can be had on this topic without an accusation of hate crime, or bigotry.
Let’s start at the beginning. Genesis 19 is the first mention of homosexual behavior, although it might well be the case in Genesis 9:24. Chapter 19 is the story of Sodom and Gomorrah that was destroyed by fire and brimstone. If you look at verse 9, these men that come to the door want to have sex with the angels that visit Lot. These angels are men. Lot is in such a spiritual mess that he offers his own daughters to this sex-thirsty crowd in verse 8. They reject his offer and demand that he send the men out, accusing Lot of being judgmental against them, and since he was being judgmental, they said they would do worse to Lot (probably raping him) than they were going to do to the angels. Ezekiel 16:49 has been used to try and make the accusation that the sin of Sodom wasn’t homosexuality at all, but rather pride and gluttony. What has been overlooked is the fact that the Lord is seeming to list the stages of moral decline in Ezekiel. Pride was Satan’s first sin, and so it was with Sodom. Fullness of bread was the next problem. The Lord said of the Laodicean church that they have NEED OF NOTHING, but they don’t know that they are miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked. Complacency and taking things for granted becomes the next stage of sin for Sodom. Then, there was an “abundance of idleness.” They had nothing to do, and we should all know the phrase, “idle hands are the devil’s playground.” We are to keep busy, so that way we are not idle. We become tempted when we are idle. Then, Sodom forgot about the poor and needy. They had everything they wanted, didn’t feel they needed to help anybody, and now the next stage comes in verse 50. “They were haughty.” That means that they felt that they were better than everyone else, and were immune from criticism coming from anybody else. Sounds a lot like the generation that is swallowing the homosexual doctrine, doesn’t it? Lastly, Sodom committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good,” the Lord says. Abomination that was committed is described in the old testament law in Leviticus 18: 22. Homosexuality doesn’t come overnight, and no, nobody is born that way, any more than people are born murderers, or born fornicators, or born thieves, or born liars, or born drunks, or dope addicts. All behavior relating to the biblical definition of sin is learned and developed.
Lastly, Romans 1, also describing the degeneration of a society and the stages it goes through of apostasy, as part of the New Testament under grace shows that mankind embracing homosexual behavior is both unnatural and unseemly. That is found in verse 26 and 27 of Romans 1. Now, if you are one who has this sin problem and a tendency towards this deathstyle (its not a “life”style), there is hope in the Lord Jesus Christ. But first the bad news: the world has made it easy for you to accept your sin, stay in it, and has decided to attack anybody who tries to help you out of it. The Lord tells you to repent: will you? Be not deceived, God is not mocked: whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. You have to first acknowledge that your behavior is sinful, but the grace of God is greater. He can help you change this behavior. It may be very difficult, it may just be the hardest thing you will ever do. But you will have to choose between what the world tells you and what the scriptures tell you. One is always right, and the other is usually wrong. I can hear Jesus asking you right now: “Whom do you say that I am?” Your answer to that will go a long way to determining where you end up. There is hope for you, unless you decide to give a haughty stiff arm to the Holy Spirit. I’ll be praying for you. The enemy has you in bondage. I love you with the love of Christ, and I love you enough to tell you the truth. Am I now therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth? Galatians 4:16.
